If you are new to fly fishing O'Reillys Fishing can help you out. In addition to our great value starter kits we offer free fly casting lessons for beginners at our shop. And our fishing trips have helped many newcomers catch their first fish.
Most right handed anglers will wind the reel with their left hand. The advantages of this are that the stronger hand is controlling the rod and also that there is no need to switch hands to start winding. For this reason we will load the reel for winding with the left hand by default. If you are left-handed or prefer to wind with your right hand please indicate when ordering a pre-loaded reel.

This is a great kit whether a beginner or advanced. This outfit comes all loaded up and ready to fish.

The rod is a Daiwa Pro 9ft 6 inches 2-pce for a #7 line. Might be a little bit fast-action for a beginner but for the price has a great feel to it. I would personally fish with this rod for rainbows or sea-trout.

The reel will be a Rimfly Disc 95 made by British Fly Reels. Takes approx 125 yards of Cortland

20lb micron backing with a #7 floating line.

The fly line will be a Shakespeare Professional WF7 floating line which I will load up on your reel with the correct amount of backing and a braided loop at the end of the fly line.

Some Stroft for your tippet material and 10 flies suitable for rainbow trout. If you wish the flies for sea trout please indicate.

For those who prefer a mid-action the rod is a Greys GRX 4 piece #6/7 rod. The GRX is one of the best selling rods in Britain, has a nice mid action and is very nicely finished.
